Why do customers sometimes not pay the postage when it has been entered in the description instead of the box because it exceeds the postage for that catergory? All is fine if I send invoice but some pay before I get a chance and then I have to email them for more money which I don't like doing. What can I do, as it seems obvious that the customer either doesn't see the postage or doesn't know how to add it on when they pay, to try to stop it happening as I've had quite a few instances lately? I have just received two pottery plates that are both broken due to poor packaging that did not comply with the Post Office guidelines i.e.pack with a minimum of 50 mm of cushion material around each article. Hi folks, I recently sold my first item, and tried to print a postage label with paypal. However, there was a problem with my printer and the label did not print, although the money has been deducted from my account. I've sent the item anyway but have now paid postage twice. Hi EveryoneI posted an item to a Buyer on 7th September, 1st Class Recorded Delivery, within 24 hours of the auction. I always send a despatch email stating that it can be a two day service and occasionally longer and that if they miss the postman, they will have five days to collect from the sorting office or it will be returned to me.I received an email on the 12th saying not received. I sent the tracking number and advised again that she should check with sorting office as sometimes the postman forgets to leave a card.Received a message on 17th saying tracking showed signed for by someone else but she hadn't received. I tracked it and it showed it RM had tried to deliver on 16th and was now being returned to sender. I received it back yesterday and the package showed that they had first tried to deliver on the 8th and again on the 16th so it had been at the sorting office eight days and she obviously hadn't bothered to follow my advice and check otherwise it would be safely in her possession now.Emailed her back and pointed all this out and offered to post any day of her choosing when she knew she would be at home two days in a row or could collect from the sorting office or, if she preferred, issue a refund. I bought a poster and paid for it the same day on the 2nd of september. I contacted the seller to tell them i added on the extra to have the item sent registered. Since then i havent heard anything from the seller and i still havent received it in the post. I realise the postal strikes will affect how long items can take which is why i have waited to post this. I have asked the seller a couple of times how long it should take but have heard nothing in reply. All i really want to know is how long should i wait and, if i dont receive the item, when should i start opening disputes etc? When paying through paypal, apart from stating my home address, I even left a note (through paypal) to the seller to send it to my home address.However, the seller has not used Royal mail and has sent it to a collect shop to pick up, obviously because it is cheaper, about 2 miles from where I live. Hi,I now find myself in full time employment which makes it impossible to get to the post office during the week.So my plan is to end my auctions on a Thursday evening allowing the buyer to pay anytime from Thursday evening to 8am Saturday. If they do this then I will be able to post the item on on Saturday morning, which gives a very quick dispatch time and the buyer should get the goods quite quickly.I plan to make it clear in my listings that I can only post Saturday morning and need payment by 8am Saturday in order to do this.If I do this then :1. Hi there. I am wondering if anyone can help me. I have sold a number of items on ebay and, up until now, I have always sent items by recorded delivery to save all the hassle of people saying they haven't received the item. I am now thinking of sending items by 1st class post as many of items are small and of little value. If I obtain proof of posting for each item I send, in the event that a buyer claims they haven't received the item, would I have to refund the cost of the item or send replacements? Most of my items I sell are one offs and I don't have duplicates so I would not be able to send replacements. As a seller, is it my responsibility if items are not received, even though I have proof of posting?

Hi, I send all my items by recorded delivery in the UK. But recently an item was bought by UK resident to send to spain. The buyer claims that the parcel hasn't arrived and I only have proof of posting. I want to claim from the post office but the buyer wants to claim through paypal chargeback facility. The buyer has extremely poor feedback on several items and constantly leaves very bad feedback for others. I need the buyer to participate in the post office claim if he genuinely hasn't recieved it. I have recently sold some crockery. I stipulated 'pick up only'. The winning bidder asked if they were to pay extra would I parcel up ready for the their courier to collect. I bubble wrapped as much as I could and also used newspaper. Fitted all securely into 2 boxes, and as far as I could feel nothing moved about in the boxes. I have received notification from the buyer to say most of the items have been smashed and no bubble wrap!!What do you suggest?

I have been told that I can exchange the item I have purchased which broke after half an hour of usage. I wanted to return it and get my money back but seller said she will send a new one out as she does not do refunds. The seller wants the item returning but will not reimburse my postage costs to do so. Is this normal/allowed? I agreed to pay a set amount for the item on a buy it now and a set postage amount was listed. Now the item was faulty I am expected to pay further postage costs. does anyone know how to prevent this?

I sell plants with different postage charges but sent in the same package.When I list these I am asked if they are to be as part of a discounted postage scheme which I offer. I fill the form accordingly expecting ebay, or is it pay pal, to sort the postage for me. It rarely happens there mostly seems to be a glitch.I am trying to go through each item to see how it has been listed to know what the buyer is expecting but cannot understand how they can see what they are being charged. Hi, I have been contacted by a buyer who is looking for an item purchased on 22nd August. I have managed to track the item via the recorded delivery receipt and it says an attempt was made to deliver on 27th but package is being sent back to sender as recipient 'did not pick item up or we could not deliver the package' Given the time scale it doesn't look like the PO kept ahold of the package for any length of time to enable them to pick up. I can't find out how long they are supposed to keep it.Given that the buyer is chasing the item I presume they were not left a card by the PO. So who is responsible for postage costs if redelivery is requested by the buyer?Thank you.

I sold an item to a buyer and due to pressure at work I was not able to post immediately. I contacted buyer and said when I would post ~ which I did, but item took longer that expected to arrive.Postman tried to deliver to her and put a card through her door saying it was too big for the letter box.Buyer then contacted me on her return from holiday demanding I repost the parcel to her as post office said they had returned it to me due to the length of time she was away.I told her impossible as I had not put any return details on the package.She says she called the number on the card and was told that the item was returned to me, but if that had not happened then it was in a returns centre.Buyer has since told me she left for a month holiday the day before the attempted delivery.She is now demanding a full refund as she has not received package and is saying it is all my fault.She says it is my fault as a seller that the package did not arrive before she went away. I have asked for a copy of the card , also for name of her local sorting office and when she got in touch with them to see about getting a redelivery.She is being rude now and is not giving me any of the details I feel I need to follow this up.She just demands a refund.The transaction including P P was for

I posted a small item in an envelope, I printed the postage by paypal but didnt get a certificate of posting as I just posted it in the post box on my street. The buyer said empty envelope arrived. Do I just have to put this down to experience, give full refund and in future always get certificate stamped by post office?
