Item not arrived

Hi, I send all my items by recorded delivery in the UK. But recently an item was bought by UK resident to send to spain. The buyer claims that the parcel hasn't arrived and I only have proof of posting. I want to claim from the post office but the buyer wants to claim through paypal chargeback facility. The buyer has extremely poor feedback on several items and constantly leaves very bad feedback for others. I need the buyer to participate in the post office claim if he genuinely hasn't recieved it. Will paypal take the money from me without checking postal reciepts? It makes it worse because I siad I would only post to the Uk but they still bid and won.
